The A & C Dance Education Program

A Syllabus Examination Program created by A&C Dynamic Dance Studio for Children up to the age of 18 years.

What can your Children benefit from the A & C Dance EducationProgram

Introduction: Dance Education

Children need to express and communicate their ideas, feelings and understanding in order to know more about themselves and their world. Children are exceptionally adept in using natural movements to support and emphasize what they want to ‘say’ to themselves and the world. The child’s life experiences, culture, physical and intellectual abilities may then be integrated into the movement in very creative ways. Dancing allows children to use their creative instincts, discover new ways to move, feel, perceive and understand themselves and others. Dancing encourages the child to reach beyond the conventional ways of communications like writing and speaking thus providing an additional avenue for expression. It helps to develop imagination, creativity and the ability to make definite decisions in their lives. Dancing increases the opportunities for children to share in the experience of creating, learning and performing with others in a very conducive and non-threatening environment.

As such, the natural use of movement for expression and communication becomes the foundation for the A&C Dance Education Program teaching syllabus and methodology.

The A&C Dance Education Program

1. The A&C Dance Education Program forms a non-competitive way of measuring a dancer’s progress and achievements. They provide the opportunity to assess the student’s improvement in Ballroom and Latin Dances.

2. In this Program, students are encouraged to use their own creativity to enhance their learning. The student will be taught fixed Dance Figures and Dance Routine for each dance. (Individual Dance Figures are amalgamated together to form a Dance Routine)

The student will firstly be examined on this Fixed Routine. The student will
be given a piece of music before the examination and they are required to
create a new Dance Routine using the Dance Figures previously taught to them.

3. The student’s individual performance is measured against an Internationally Recognised Standard of Quality. All examinations are conducted by well experienced and qualified Examiners.

4. We will ensure that the student has mastered a particular skill level before being introduced to a higher level.

5. Our Studio is dedicated to delivering quality physical education and Dance Programs and as such only Qualified and Certified Instructors are allowed to conduct these Classes.
